Getting settled

I am thrilled to get to share all that God is doing in our lives. First, we are all moved in our new home in West Lafayette, Indiana. It is cold and snowy but it is home and it's where we feel God has called us.

The girls are getting situated in their new schools. Ragan is transitioning fine into her new environment. Reilly has done so incredibly well. Rinna had a rough start (let's just say the description of crocodile tears is putting it mildly), but now says that Mr. Proulx (Pru) is her favorite teacher EVER.

I am unpacking all that I care to unpack right now. While we are renting, I feel that if I haven't needed it by now, I don't need it (I'm sticking to that).

Steve is continuing to learn and enjoy his job. Yay God. Thank you to all of you who prayed for us for so long. I feel without a doubt, that this is what it was leading up to.

It is so incredible to be back by my family and Steve's. My in laws actually live about 5 minutes from us and my family is about an hour away. My sister and I take turns on weekends coming to see each other.

I miss my sunshine and heat, but have to admit the snow falling is beautiful. I'll let you know if I still feel that way by the end of winter :)

New Year, New Life

Well.....it's official. We are moving. Steve was offered a great job in West Lafayette, Indiana at Purdue University. He officially started work on November 1 and the girls and I will join him during Christmas break. It's going to be a BIG change, but we feel God all over this decision. HE is a great God and, despite us, continues to bless us beyond measure.

We are having a very untraditional Christmas this year. No Christmas tree, but there are lots of moving boxes. The girls are taking this all in stride. We are very sad to leave Florida, but excited to be back near family. Steve's side of the family will live 10-15 minutes from us and my family about an hour.

Please pray for us as we start this new page in our lives.

Wow. Totally forgot I had a blog, obviously since my last post was Dec. '08.

Ok, so I guess I can add this to my list of things to do this year. I will make an effort to keep my blog up to date.

Let me start by saying that God has truly been faithful to us this past year. It has been a very difficult year for sure. In September, Steve was finally offered a position in sales for Maronda Homes. He is doing very well there, but it's just not what he wants to do. We are believing that this is all part of God's plan for us and it may just be a stepping stone. However, we also remember that we are to be grateful. So many out there are still searching for a job.

The girls are loving school. Ragan is in 8th grade, Reilly in 5th, and Rinna is in 1st. We have had to start the dreaded high school planning. I cannot believe I am about to have a baby in high school. Why does time go so fast? Reilly will be going to Washington DC in April for the Safety Patrol trip. Another milestone that I have a certain dread about, but I know that she is excited. My little Rinna is growing too. She is excelling in school. They all 3 make me so proud.

I am loving working with my friend, Dyan at Limelight. It's a great shop and in my opinion, doing very well. I am praying for success for her.

That's all for now. I will post pics soon.

What's New

Wow, I can't believe how fast this year has just flown by. The girls are doing all doing great in school. They are making great grades and staying on task. Life at home has changed drastically as Steve and I have switched roles. He is presently looking for work and now I am the official "bread winner". I am working at a new salon, spa and party place called Limelight. My friend opened this and our first day is tomorrow, Dec. 8. I am so excited. This place is going to be awesome. Check out the website.
http://www.limelightsalonspa.com. I am also working part time at Pottery Barn Kids. Life is busy that's for sure. We've recently had the pleasure of having lots and lots of company. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Steve's parents came for a week, then we had our friends, Torrey, Polly, Noah, and Karson Herrin here for Thanksgiving. Next my wonderful sister came to help me celebrate my 40th birthday. I cannot believe I'm actually publishing my age, but it is what it is. We had a great visit with Adonna, Evan and Abby. Next my parents are coming for Christmas. I am posting some pics from some of our recent visits. More to come.....

First day of school 2008

The first day of school was awesome. All 3 girls did great. My 7th grader, yes 7th grader, got back into the swing of things very quickly. She is loving school. Reilly started 4th grade at a new school this year. Lucky for me Rinna is at this school also so instead of driving to 3 different schools, I only have 2. Yay!! Reilly has a beautiful young teacher and they have hit it off. Reilly loves her teacher and the feeling is mutual. This brings us to Rinna. She started Kindergarten. I was really worried about this because most of you know she didn't do to well with separation during pre-k. However, on the first day of school, she leaned over and kissed me and said "bye mommy" and got out of the car and walked hand in hand with her big sister and went to class. She didn't need me :(. My babies are growing up.

Awards

We had a great ending to this school year. Ragan and Reilly were both recognized with awards. Ragan received an award for Top 10% in her class with a gradepoint average of 3.8-4.0. Yes, this is my daughter. Reilly was recognized as student of the month for May 2008. Rinna didn't win an award but she did finish Pre-K which is huge.

We are so proud of them.
